ICI believes modern paints should be healthy and environmental friendly. Many consumers and producers focus on the cost but neglect minor issues in production and picking of the right materials sources. ICI thinks highly of product management. We have formulated a strict SSHE (Safety, Security, Health, Environment) Policy to provide a safe and healthy workplace for both staff and contractors. ICI SSHE Policy is far more advanced than most countries' chemical environmental protection policies. Some of them even formulate their policy with reference to our policy.
SSHE Policy ensures that all activities are conducted safely; the health of our employees, customers and the public will be protected; the environmental performance will meet contemporary requirements; the operations are run in a manner acceptable to the local communities; and employees, capital, information and other assets will be protected from deliberate harm, damage or loss.
In particular ICI will:
- Comply with relevant laws and regulations and take any additional measures considered necessary.
- Manufacture products that can be transported, stored, used and disposed of safely.
- Seek to develop new or modified products which assist in conserving the environment and lead to sustainable development.
- Set demanding targets and measure progress to ensure continuous improvement, in safety, security, health and environmental performance.
- Minimize the consumption of resources and energy.

- Provide appropriate safety, security, health and environmental training and information for our staff, contractors and others who work with us or handle our products.
- Promote the interchange of safety, security, health and environmental information and make our expertise and knowledge available to relevant statutory authorities.
- Exercise personal responsibility in preventing harm to ourselves, others and the environment; and to contribute to every aspect of safety, security, health and environmental protection.
