Cleaning and storage
When it's all over, it is essential to clean your brushes and rollers thoroughly to extend their lives. If you have usable surplus paints, store them properly.

How to clean the painting equipment after use?
  1. Remove excess paints on the tools before cleaning
  2. Brushes and rollers used with waterborne paints should be soaked into water with a little detergent and then washed in water
  3. Brushes which have been used to apply solvent borne paints should be cleaned with thinner and then washed in water
  4. Wrap the cleaned brushes in a piece of clean paper towel and allow them to dry in a cool and dry place before reuse
  5. Brushes should be stored flat. Standing brushes on their ends will bend the bristles and spoil them
  6. Rollers should be stored hanging up to avoid crushing the pile

How to store surplus paints?
  1. Leftover paints should be stored in their original cans with the lids tightly closed and labelled properly
  2. Store them in an upright position in a cool, shaded place
  3. Keep flammable solvent borne paints away from all sources of heat and fire
